These two books contain the socio-ethico-spiritual teachings of saint Tukarama, who is one of the greatest saints of India. A careful understanding of the thoughts in it will enable the reader to distinguish between a false and a real Guru and to know the correct way of reaching the spiritual goal, namely, the realization of God. With this achieved, one would be able to appreciate the truth that the body of Tukarama has become divinised; those who visit the places of pilgrimage would think it as an idle pursuit, even the gods in heaven would be disgusted with the objects of enjoyment; ascetics would give up their pride of sacrifices and the donors of charities would simply be ashamed of having achieved almost nothing in comparison to what Tukarama had achieved, namely, the realization of Brahman.
